Fans are asked to donate when they enter for the chance to win a trip for two on FGL's "This Is How We Cruise." The 4-day cruise to paradise will set sail from Miami, Florida, on November 8, 2014. Eli Young Band’s 10,000 TOWNS made its debut at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart, marking a career first for the band of brothers. The chart-topping album scored EYB their best first-week sales to date, landing them a coveted Top 5 spot on the Billboard 200. The album also claimed the #1 spot last week on the iTunes Country Albums Chart upon its release.
“Wow! This is exciting news. This is another one of those career milestones you dream about. We couldn’t be happier,” said Mike Eli.
Critics around the country continue to churn out rave reviews. Associated Press complimented the band saying 10,000 TOWNS, “gives plenty of reasons for cities across America to embrace them with open arms.” While Chicago Sun-Times boasts,“(EYB) continues to prove why they matter, why they REALLY matter to country music, with the release of 10,000 TOWNS.” The Dallas Morning News claims, “10,000 TOWNS has succeeded in doing what the Eli Young Band set out to do: make a fun record their fans will want to hear live.”
The ACM Vocal Group of the Year nominees wrote more than half of the songs on 10,000 TOWNS and co-produced the record with Frank Liddell and Justin Niebank. The amped up level of involvement in the creative process makes them even more thankful for the success of the new album. “We really wanted to record songs that would be fun for our fans,” said James Young. “We’ve also learned to follow our gut when it comes to song selection and recording. We wrote a lot more for this record and had a chance to co-produce the album as well. We’re just glad our fans are enjoying it.”
While the album has received glowing reviews, the band’s radio singles are also getting recognition. EYB’s latest #1 smash “Drunk Last Night” was tapped as #6 on acclaimed music critic Jody Rosen’s Top 100 Songs of the Year list in New York Magazine. Their new single, “Dust,” was described by Country Weekly as “an absolutely relentless performance by the band, powered by raging guitars on the chorus, is a perfect compliment to the lyrics, giving you the sound-to-sense feeling of movement and desperation.”
The group is currently touring Australia with Darius Rucker and will hit the road this summer with Jake Owen to perform the new songs for fans across the country.
Fueled with a #1 single, #1 album, an extensive tour schedule and additional praise from top-tier outlets like USA Today, Rolling Stone, Billboard and American Songwriter, EYB is poised for a SUCCESS!
