(AUDIO) Brantley Gilbert Is Not A Fan Of High Tech Video Games

June 16, 2013

Brantley Gilbert spends a lot of time on his tour bus and one of the ways he and his crew pass the time is by watching movies. “You know, every band has bus movies and I guess for us we had a couple of ‘em. Trailer Park Boys was definitely one of our favorites. It’s like – you just have to watch it. That one and Run Ronnie Run. Nobody’s really heard of that movie but if you research it and find it, it’s worth watching.” A lot of tour buses are equipped with video game consoles, but Brantley says, “I’m not a big video game guy.” He used to like to play things like Madden Football, but now he says the games have gotten so complex and high tech “It’s like trying to figure out how to put together a hard drive on a computer. I mean, those things are so complicated now, I stay away from them.” These days Brantley’s probably spending a lot of his time on the bus promoting his latest single, “More Than Miles,” which is top ten and still climbing.

Brantley Gilbert – favorite bus pastime :51

“You know, every band has bus movies and I guess for us we had a couple of ‘em. Trailer Park Boys was definitely one of our favorites. It’s like – you just have to watch it. That one and Run Ronnie Run. Nobody’s really heard of that movie but if you research it and find it, it’s worth watching. As far as video games, I’m not a big video game guy. I think when they were simple, I was a lot more into them, like Madden Football, when you could run a sweep every play and score a touchdown. I loved them then. Now, it’s like trying to figure out how to put together a hard drive on a computer. I mean, those things are so complicated now, I stay away from them. My drummer, on the other hand, he sits in the back lounge and he’ll play through all hours of the night. My little brother’s the same way. I don’t know how they do that. I really hadn’t been big on video games.”
