(AUDIO) Brantley Gilbert's Hell On Wheels Tour Rolls On

April 7, 2013

Brantley Gilbert launched his first headlining tour, the Hell on Wheels Tour, last year. The plan was to test the waters and if it all went well he would extend the tour into 2013. Fortunately, Brantley says, “The first leg of the Hell on Wheels tour was awesome. We had Greg Bates, Brian Davis and Uncle Kracker out with us. We saw some great crowds. We had great support. We couldn’t ask for more and it was – you know, it was a good way to get ready for the second leg too.” He kicked off the second leg of the tour in January, and Brantley says one of the other great things about the first leg was that it made him and his crew better. “We had a lot of guys learning some stuff across the board; crew wise and as a band we got tighter on the first leg. It was definitely cooler.” The Hell on Wheels Tour will run through April 27th, with special guest Kip Moore. Brantley’s current single, “More Than Miles” is climbing up the charts while he finishes his third album, which he’ll release later this year.

We had a lot of guys learning some stuff across the board; crew wise and as a band we got tighter on the first leg. It was definitely cooler. A lot of people ask me what’s different between being support and being the main act and I tell them, of course, there’s the stress of ticket counts ‘cause you’re responsible for that. But other than that, we just play longer and later.”
