(AUDIO) Eli Young Band Appreciates Sacrifices of Military Families

June 30, 2013

The Eli Young Band spends a lot of time on the road and away from their families, but anytime they get road weary or start missing their families, they think about the men and women in our military who spend so much time away from home under much different circumstances. Mike Eli has two sisters who are married to Marines and he says, “We can relate to that, them being away from their families so much, but it’s very different because they have absolutely no control over how long and how far away they are from their families. That is something that we will always have such a huge respect for them; to be able to be away from their families for so long and sometimes to not be able to communicate with their families. Sometimes not at all. Seeing that with my sisters has always been such a huge deal and I have such a huge amount of respect for them and then also my sisters to be able to deal with it in such a great way.”

The Eli Young Band is currently out on Kenny Chesney’s No Shoes Nation Tour, where their new single, “Drunk Last Night” is getting a huge response from the fans. The tour will run through August 24th.

Mike Eli – “Both my sisters married Marines and they’ve actually been a part of our family for a long time. The four of us live this life of being out on the road and being away from our families a lot. We can relate to that, them being away from their families so much, but it’s very different because they have absolutely no control over how long and how far away they are from their families. That is something that we will always have such a huge respect for them; to be able to be away from their families for so long and sometimes to not be able to communicate with their families.
