Taylor Swift to Receive 2012 Ripple of Hope Award in Recognition of Charitable Efforts

Taylor Swift will receive a 2012 Ripple of Hope Award in recognition of her numerous contributions to charitable efforts. The award, which is presented by the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, acknowledges individuals who demonstrate commitment to social change. Past recipients include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, President Bill Clinton, Bono and Vice President Al Gore. The ceremony, to be hosted by Alec Baldwin, will be held in New York on December 3.

"Taylor Swift's dedication to advocacy at such a young age continues to inspire me, and I'm delighted to honor her as one of our 2012 Ripple of Hope Award recipients," Kerry Kennedy, President of the RFK Center for Justice said in a statement. "As a young person, Taylor has already accomplished so much, and I look forward to watching all that she will do to help build a brighter, more peaceful world for us all."
