(AUDIO) The Band Perry Wasn't Always A Band

January 6, 2013

Long before The Band Perry grew up and formed a band, they used to tour together, but Kimberly was the one on stage, while her younger brothers, Neil and Reid were her roadies. “Reid and I were 8 and 10,” says Neil. “I was 8, Reid was 10 and Kimberly started her band and she needed roadies so Reid and I, we said, ‘You know, we’ll help you out for a little bit.’” Reid points out that they weren’t paid for their hard work, which Kimberly denies, but fortunately their days as roadies were short-lived. “They were roadies for about two weeks before they caught the band fever themselves and so like Neil said, 8, 10 years old they started their own little rock-n-roll band and they had this adorable little lead singer and keyboard player, and electric guitar player and their band would open for me and my guys all over the Southeast,” explains Kimberly. At that point she says, “We immediately started traveling together as a family and then this moment came when all of our heights kind of evened up and we started out as The Band Perry.” And lucky for us, now they’re making great music like their latest single, “Better Dig Two.”

Kimberly – “That’s not true. They were roadies for about two weeks before they caught the band fever themselves and so like Neil said, 8, 10 years old they started their own little rock-n-roll band and they had this adorable little lead singer and keyboard player, and electric guitar player and their band would open for me and my guys all over the Southeast.
