NASHVILLE, TN (April 4, 2025) – Burgeoning powerhouse vocalist Preston Cooper is set to release his debut album, Toledo Talkin’, on May 30 via The Valory Music Co. With 12 incendiary tracks – all but three co-written by the no-frills newcomer – Toledo Talkin’ sticks close to Cooper’s shoot-it-straight style. The album features recently released songs including his staggering debut “Weak,” emotive rocker “One More Place I’ve Never Been” and the “tender yet powerful” (Billboard), “Numbers On A Mailbox.”
In conjunction with today’s announcement, Preston unveils the fiery, adrenaline-pumping anthem, “One For The Road.” Described by Preston himself as a “speeding-ticket song,” the track embodies the high-octane energy that runs throughout the upcoming album.
Opting for an old-school, full-band recording process, Toledo Talkin’ blends a lean fusion of Country heart and bluesy alt-rock, lashed together with sheer vocal intensity that feels miles from the Music Row norm. Built on chasing dreams, battling doubts, and learning where you stand, the project finds a small-town phenom exploring his creative coming of age, with stadium-sized potential rooted in plainspoken Midwestern authenticity.
“I love this album because it’s so personal,” Preston explains. “Coming from a small town, I worked a 9-5 at the post office and wasn’t even sure if I would make it to Nashville. This album is about me moving away and taking a chance. I’ve gone from the bar down the street, to the next state, to the country, and hopefully on to the world. My biggest hope is to make authentic, organic Country music and inspire other young musicians to do the same.”

Joining the US Postal Service after graduation, the Ohio native found local fame early on as “The Singing Mailman” – walking up to 14 miles each day while recording his gravelly, graceful vocal runs on a tape recorder in his mail bag, then clocking out to perform acoustic gigs across the region. Hundreds of shows later, hit-making Nashville legends Brad and Brett Warren (Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban) discovered Preston at a Toledo songwriter’s round, quickly recognizing his once-in-a-lifetime talent. Now, with his high-intensity mix of raw, organic Country and edgy alt rock, he’s ready for the next step after signing with The Valory Music Co. at the end of 2024, and making a show-stopping introduction at this year’s Big Machine Label Group luncheon during Country Radio Seminar.
“Preston blew me away from the first note, and then learning his story and his path made me an immediate fan,” shares Big Machine Label Group Chairman & CEO Scott Borchetta. “And then, I saw something I’ve never seen before at CRS — TWO STANDING OVATIONS! Get ready, Preston Cooper is coming, and you don’t want to miss it!”
Complementing his run of celebrated releases, Preston continues to captivate audiences with his live performances. Currently on the road as direct support for Kameron Marlowe on the Keepin’ The Lights On Tour, he will take the stage tonight (4/4) in Greenville, SC. This summer, Preston will join Riley Green on select dates of the Damn Country Music Tour and perform at various festivals, including making his CMA Fest debut this June. ABOUT PRESTON COOPER: With a vocal so expressive it builds into jaw-dropping eruptions of power and emotion, 22-year-old artist Preston Cooper represents the start of a new generation in Country Rock. The biggest voice to ever hail from the tiny town of Fredericktown, Ohio, Preston’s soulful and blues inspired vocal is a potent force of nature, drawing comparisons to icons like Chris Stapleton and Bob Seger. First picking up guitar as a high school freshman, he joined the US Postal Service after graduation and found local fame as “The Singing Mailman” – walking up to 14 miles each day while belting out raw, raspy vocal runs, then clocking out to perform across the region. Hundreds of shows later, hit-making legends Brad and Brett Warren (Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban) discovered Preston at a Toledo songwriter’s round, and quickly recognized his once-in-a-lifetime talent. With his debut album, Toledo Talkin’, releasing May 30, the first chapter of this generational talent’s story unfolds. With 12 incendiary tracks – all but three co-written by the no-frills newcomer – Toledo Talkin’ was recorded with an old-school, full-band process, lashed together with sheer vocal intensity miles different from the Music Row norm. The album wields a mix of raw, organic Country and edgy Alt Rock, as evidenced on his show-stopping debut track “Weak,” emotive “One More Place I’ve Never Been,” shot of nostalgia “Numbers On A Mailbox,” and highway rocker “One For The Road.” Preston is currently on tour as direct support for Kameron Marlowe’s Keepin’ The Lights On Tour and will join Riley Green this summer on select dates of the Damn Country Music Tour.
