NASHVILLE, TN (June 13, 2025) – Cole Goodwin relays a two-timing tale as old as time with his newest song, “Girlfriend’s Got A Boyfriend,” out today via Big Machine Records. Backed by a rich blend of acoustic and electric guitar, fiddle, pedal steel and steady drums, Goodwin’s traditional tone and witty delivery combine to transport the listener to a bygone era of nineties nostalgia. The Pooler, GA native remedies heartbreak with a dose of humor after learning that he might not be the only man in his one-and-only’s life. Rooted in a throwback sound, “Girlfriend’s Got A Boyfriend” is a standout example of Goodwin’s ability to craft engaging stories and deliver them with signature Southern boy charm.

“I’ve always been a big fan of a good ole cheating song, and I wanted to write a lighthearted take on a situation nobody wants to find themselves in,” shares Goodwin. “I wrote this one with a couple buddies in Nashville, and I can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”
It was announced last week that Goodwin has been signed to Big Machine Records, and “Girlfriend’s Got A Boyfriend” marks his first official release with the label. He also made his CMA Fest debut over the weekend with a performance on the Good Molecules Reverb Stage on Sunday (6/8). More new music from Cole is expected throughout the summer as he crisscrosses the country opening on select dates of Luke Bryan’s Country Song Came On Tour.
