NASHVILLE, TN (September 3, 2021) – Badflower knocks a one-two punch with “Johnny Wants to Fight,” the next round leading up to THIS IS HOW THE WORLD ENDS (due 9/24 via Big Machine/John Varvatos Records). Available now, the alt-rock anthem from their upcoming sophomore album follows an equally defiant “Fukboi.” Listen to the track here:

Frontman Josh Katz channels the energy from Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back In Town,” but with a modern twist as he touches on the bro culture in his periphery. Not ever personally connecting with the culture, those situations laid a foundation for a reckoning:

And I’m wrong, ‘cause I slept with her a lot, and I
I wanna tell him but I think I’d better not
‘Cause I shoulda fucking run but she’s hotter than the sun
And every day she’s fucking with me
Take this fucking halo from me

The chart-topping rockers were most recently featured on the August cover of Alternative Press Magazine highlighting “artists who are also abolishing genre and creating music on their own terms.” Badflower isn’t afraid of making anybody uncomfortable, themselves included. The Nashville-based band comprised of Katz, Joey Morrow [lead guitar, backing vocals], Alex Espiritu [bass], and Anthony Sonetti [drums] siphon stress, sleeplessness, sex, sadness, mania, pain, and truth into revelatory alternative anthems. Katz’s quivering confessions seep into climactic distortion and, like any good rush, you need more.
After forming in Los Angeles circa 2014, Badflower dropped two EPs before sending shockwaves throughout the genre with their full-length debut LoudWire hailed among the “50 Best Rock Albums of 2019.” OK, I’M SICK vaulted “The Jester,” “Heroin,” and “Ghost” to No. 1 at Rock Radio with the latter certified GOLD by the RIAA and deemed iHeartRadio Music Awards Rock Song of the Year. Along the way, further acclaim followed from Nylon, Music Connection, Loudwire and Substream Magazine, plus national television performances on The Late Late Show with James Corden and Last Call with Carson Daly. Badflower has shared bills with the likes of Cage the Elephant, Ghost, Nothing More, Shinedown, Soundgarden, among others and will kick off their headlining tour this month in Charlotte, NC.
