BIG MACHINE RECORDS RISING POP STAR LAURA MARANO TOPS “NEW ARTIST” VEVO CHART

NASHVILLE, TN (April 20, 2016) – Proving she is a musical force to be reckoned with, Laura Marano tops Vevo’s “Top 20 New Artist Music Videos in the US” chart with her debut single “Boombox” (Big Machine Records). Watch here. In just two weeks since the official premiere, the danceable video has already surpassed 11 million views.

Directed by Cole Walliser, Marano’s humerous take on a music video shoot also stars Ken Jeong (The Hangover, ABC’s Dr. Ken) as the fictional director who has no idea how to do his job. The petite vocalist released the energetic tune in March with People magazine calling it “addictive” and MTV saying Marano’s “optimism is contagious.”

The multi-media entertainer will make the national television debut of “Boombox” at the Radio Disney Music Awards, airing May 1 at 7pm ET/PT on The Disney Channel (check local listings). In 2015, Marano was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards and won two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in addition to being nominated again this year for her role on Disney Channel’s “Austin & Ally.” She hosts Radio Disney’s “For The Record With Laura Marano,” which chronicles her journey of launching her music career and chats with celebrity guests such as James Bay, Meghan Trainor, Zendaya and Nick Jonas. She is currently recording new music for her upcoming debut album and has a line of dresses with designer Sherri Hill’s Spring 2016 Prom Dress Collection.
