New Song “Picture Perfect” Out NOW
NASHVILLE, TN (November 22, 2024) – Big Machine Records today announces the signing of Jack Wharff & The Tobacco Flatts. The talented young band joins an impressive roster of artists which includes Tim McGraw, Carly Pearce, Midland, Rascal Flatts, Jackson Dean, Ryan Hurd and more. Their brand-new track “Picture Perfect” is out today.
“I cannot wait for the world to experience Jack Wharff & The Tobacco Flatts,” says Big Machine Label Group’s Chairman & CEO Scott Borchetta. “With its deep southern roots and insane turbo-charged bluegrass chops, this band will rip your head off and you’ll be screaming for more.”
Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Jack Wharff and his band The Tobacco Flatts play a stunningly unique blend of bluegrass, Country and rock. Wharff grew up surrounded by bluegrass through his father’s band, The Slack Family, developing a deep connection with the sound from a young age. Into his teenage years, the now 21-year-old lead singer began writing his own songs as a way of recreating the raw emotions and feelings of his past. In 2023, Wharff met drummer Garrett Howell and bassist Ryan Atchison at an open mic night in downtown Richmond, forming The Tobacco Flatts almost instantly, later adding guitarist Evan Novoa to the band as well. Now, the band has burst onto the scene with snippets of jaw-dropping original songs posted to TikTok and Reels, cementing the newly formed group as one of the most promising acts of 2024.
“We’re beyond excited to welcome Jack Wharff & The Tobacco Flatts to our Big Machine family,” adds Kris Lamb, EVP/General Manager of Big Machine Records. “Their raw talent and authentic storytelling create a sound that’s both timeless and fresh. This band is destined for big stages and we’re honored to be part of their journey.”
“When I think about being signed to an incredible, hardworking team like Big Machine Records, it assures me of how gracious God is,” shares Wharff. “We are beyond blessed to be doing what we love with the phenomenal people at Big Machine Label Group.”
Jack Wharff & The Tobacco Flatts capture the feeling of unconditional love and adoration with their new track, “Picture Perfect,” out today via Big Machine Records. Written by Wharff alongside Brian Bunn, Tyler Woodward, Ben Wagner and The Tobacco Flatts members Ryan Atchison and Garrett Howell, the song is a sweet and reassuring love letter, letting the recipient know that all of the perceived imperfections are what makes them so special—and their perfect match. The vulnerable and resonant lyrics are beautifully complemented by Wharff’s soulful, raspy voice laid against delicate banjo picking. This melding of Bluegrass roots with Country and Americana influences invites listeners to embrace their own imperfections and celebrate the unique beauty in love.
“‘Picture Perfect’ is a love letter to our better halves,” adds Wharff. “It’s a compilation of memories we’ve shared together and assuring the ladies in our lives that they are ‘picture perfect’ in our eyes.”
