NASHVILLE, TN (March 15, 2016) – Texas natives Breaking Southwest have a lot to celebrate this week with two high-profile performances in their home state as well as the release of their debut single “Ghost Town” March 18 to digital retailers. The trio will appear during South By Southwest® on the Nash Live Stage March 16 in Austin before heading to Dallas on March 17 to open for RaeLynn on the NASH Next Tour stop at The House of Blues Cambridge Room.
Breaking Southwest has roots deeply planted in Country music, but a close listen to their sound reveals a whispering of rock ‘n’ roll, jazz, pop, punk, classical and soul influences. The 2015 NASH Next-winning trio is made up of Kent Bell (Vocals/Guitar), Kyle Gaston (Guitar) and Lauren Hall (Fiddle/Vocals) and has previously performed dates alongside Kacey Musgraves, Kellie Pickler, Billy Currington.
Breaking Southwest are on the Nash Records label under the Big Machine Label Group umbrella and “Ghost Town” is currently being played on Cumulus radio. Crafted by GRAMMY-nominated tunesmith Jonathan Singleton and songwriter Josh Thompson, lyrics like “Believe me, you ain’t the first heart / to wind up getting played like a guitar / That’s just what she does / Goodbye fits her like a glove,” set the track’s traditional country tone with a modern production twist. The group is in the studio working on their debut album with GRAMMY-winning producer Julian Raymond.
