CHASE MCDANIEL DIGS UP HIS PAST IN “MY SIDE OF THE FAMILY”

Delivers Debut Album Lost Ones on September 19 During National Suicide Prevention Month

NASHVILLE, TN (August 8, 2025) – Big Machine Records singer-songwriter Chase McDaniel wrestles with the possibility of a generational curse in “My Side Of The Family.” Out today (8/8), listen here and watch the Robby Stevens-directed music video.

“I know a lot of good people who grew up with addicts for parents – hell-bent on being different and still worrying that they’ll pass down their hurt to their kids. A lot of them just won’t have kids at all, and it’s not because they don’t want a family,” shares McDaniel. “This song is me having that conversation with myself and asking all the questions.”

Bringing audiences even closer to the unfiltered story at the core of his autobiographical debut album, Lost Ones, McDaniel digs deeper into his past without holding back during this internal dialogue. For as heavy as the subject matter may be, however, he offsets this weight under producer Lindsay Rimes with a lithe and light melody of deftly plucked banjo, acoustic guitar, and fiddle that’s further driven by his dynamic delivery. On the verses penned by McDaniel, Zach Kale, and Seth Mosley, he counts his blessings – including a loving future wife and supportive father-in-law. Yet, the brutally openhearted and honest hook sees him grapple with what could happen down the line, “Do I got them same demons running in my blood / ‘Cause I got that strange feeling, if I have son / That I’m gonna pass down the same things.” He confesses, “So, I pray he don’t take after me and my side of the family.”

Making its mark during National Suicide Prevention Month, Lost Ones – dropping September 19 – is a body of work born from his calling of bringing strength to anyone who feels hopeless or adrift. With every track co-written by McDaniel like his current chart-climbing single “Burned Down Heaven,” the 12-track introduction shares the most painful aspects of his life, including his struggle with depression and the life-altering experience of losing his father to addiction. Available to pre-save/pre-add, Lost Ones merges that bravely honest songwriting with McDaniel’s gritty and exhilarating form of Country-Rock – ultimately providing a powerful catharsis even in its most devastating moments.

Further transforming pain into purpose and alchemizing hurt into healing, McDaniel has officially launched The Lost Ones Club. Creating a sanctuary for the broken, fans can sign up now and find additional details on his mission here.

ABOUT CHASE MCDANIEL:
Raised by his grandparents in the small Kentucky town of Greensburg, Chase McDaniel is one of Nashville’s most tenacious singer-songwriters and a shining example of how kindness, persistence, and curiosity can pay off. After graduating from the University of Louisville, he pursued his dream of making Country music all the way to Nashville. But the streetwise go-getter, who’s no stranger to hard times, quickly found misfortune once again – this time courtesy of the pandemic. Jobless and down to his last $12, he almost packed it up and headed home, then found a lifeline in a friend who loaned him enough to cover rent for just a few more weeks. During that time, McDaniel submitted over 50 job applications and finally landed a gig, working double shifts and sleeping as little as four hours a night while writing and recording with his producer and best friend Jerry Jacobs in whatever spare time he could find. Grateful for the second chance, McDaniel poured his heart and soul into his music, sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly, and steadily winning over a growing community of fans who’ve connected with his honesty and strength through vulnerability – not to mention his enigmatic swagger. Over the last few years, he’s scored the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales and iTunes Country single charts with the self-aware “Project” and reached No. 3 (all-genre) for “Your Daughter” (a heartbreaking track written about his sister). The Big Machine Records talent released his debut EP Blame It All On Country Music in early 2024 and began taking his Country-Rock sound and rich baritone vocals to sold-out audiences across the country. With his first single “Burned Down Heaven” at Country radio and autobiographical debut album Lost Ones available September 19, McDaniel’s ultimate aim is to help others find the light.
