NASHVILLE, TN (June 2, 2017) – Named one of Rolling Stone’s “Artists You Need to Know,” Delta Rae today launched the music video for their poetic tune “A Long and Happy Life.” Famed photographer/director David McClister filmed the six-piece band at an ethereal farmoutside Nashville on the day their EP of the same name debuted, March 24. The symbolism wasn’t lost on the troupe, who created scenes reflecting a spiritual adventure leading others to embrace life to the fullest. Watch now – http://smarturl.it/ALongHappyLifeVEVO.

“For our video, we worked alongside David to create the feeling of ‘the best summer of your life.’ We started with his vision of beautiful pastoral southern imagery and weaved in the parts of Delta Rae music videos that we love: magic, mysticism, and ghosts,” expressed Ian Holljes (vocals, guitar). “We wanted to tell a beautiful, happy ghost story of friends and family gathering for an Estate Sale in the country — a send-off for departed loved ones. As the party builds, kids explore the house and interact with the spirits of the house as they guide them to books, instruments and garments that will find a new life in them. These items are real artifacts from our own family histories. As the party ends, the spirits disappear and leave the house and the heirlooms to their new owners, passing on the legacy of a long and happy life.”

Their lead single on The Valory Music Co. was written by Ian with brother and bandmate Eric Hölljes (vocals, piano). The title and inspiration developed from Ian’s former English professor and friend — renowned southern author Reynolds Price. As Women’s Wear Daily noted, “Delta Rae still believes in the power of the written word” and it shows throughout their new collection of songs that Rolling Stone called a “harmony-drenched Southern pop-rock with slick production and giant hooks.”

Telling stories in four-part harmony alongside sister Brittany Hölljes (lead vocals) and Liz Hopkins (lead vocals, tambourine, auxiliary percussion), Delta Rae’s sound is rounded out with Mike McKee (drums) and Grant Emerson (bass). Taking their instincts and influences on the road, each stop of their 60+ date headline A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE TOUR offers mentors nationwide an opportunity to see the show free as part of their Tickets For Teachers initiative.
