Superstar Duo Appear at Catwalk for a Cause May 17
NASHVILLE, TN (May 9, 2017) – Just weeks away from the kickoff of their groundbreaking THE SMOOTH TOUR 2017, Country mega stars FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE have now rounded out their headline trek’s already stellar lineup with three new supporting artists.
Joining THE SMOOTH TOUR 2017 on select dates are rising stars MORGAN WALLEN, RYAN HURD and RUSSELL DICKERSON (full schedule below). They’ll fire up massive crowds each night before a genre-busting cast of fellow stars take the stage, including FGL, Hip-hop icon NELLY and breakout Country talent CHRIS LANE.
Wallen’s debut single, “The Way I Talk,” has just entered Country radio’s Top 30, while Hurd and Dickerson have both been turning heads on Thomas Rhett’s HOME TEAM TOUR and with attention-grabbing debut EPs.
Pop idols BACKSTREET BOYS will also be featured on THE SMOOTH TOUR 2017 in three historic stadium concerts – Boston (July 7), Minneapolis (July 29) and Chicago (August 12) – FGL’s first-ever headlining stadium shows.
Meanwhile, FGL’s Country dominance continues as they’ve been nominated in three categories for the 2017 CMT MUSIC AWARDS: Video of the Year (“H.O.L.Y.”), Duo Video of the Year (“H.O.L.Y.”), andCollaborative Video of the Year (“May We All” featuring Tim McGraw). Voting is now open on CMT.com. The RIAA also recently presented them with four new sales certifications. Current single “God, Your Mama, And Me” is now GOLD-certified for moving over 500,000 units, while “Confession” and “May We All” (featuring Tim McGraw) have both reached PLATINUM status for crossing 1 million units. Likewise, the 2016 smash “H.O.L.Y.” has gone 3X PLATINUM, bringing the duo’s total number of tracks sold to over 29 million worldwide.
On May 17, FGL will perform at the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation’s 8th annual Catwalk for a Cause fundraiser. Featuring a James Bond theme and a guest list of NASCAR stars, the night raises money for the fight against childhood and ovarian cancers and will celebrate 15 “Catwalk Heroes” aged 3 – 17 who have beaten or continue to battle the disease. Culminating in a fashion-show style event, each honoree will be escorted down the runway by NASCAR drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Danica Patrick, Joey Lagano, and Truex Jr. More information can be found at martintruexjrfoundation.org.

ABOUT MORGAN WALLEN: Born in Sneedville, Tenn. (also home to bluegrass legend Jimmy Martin), Wallen was a star on the baseball diamond, attended the same high school as country superstar Kenny Chesney, and has deep roots in the church. With a hard-rock loving preacher for a father and a mother who couldn’t get enough country and contemporary Christian music, Wallen began performing for his local congregation at the tender age of 3 and went on to develop a strong love of country, rock and hip-hop. After moving to Music City in 2015, he’s co-written with hitmakers like Craig Wiseman, Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins, the Warren Brothers, Tommy Cecil and Matt Dragstrem, and has been honing his studio poise with award-winning producer Joey Moi. Wallen’s five-song EP The Way I Talk hit iTunes and Spotify on July 29, 2016, and his Southern-roots anthem “The Way I Talk” was instantly included on Spotify’s popular Wild Country, New Boots and New Music Friday playlists. ABOUT RYAN HURD: Labeled a 2017 “One to Watch” by Pandora, Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, CMT and more, emerging singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd continues his groundswell taking his trademark, powerful lyrics & melodies and electric live performance to fans. As one of Nashville’s most multi dimensional young songwriters, Hurd claims co-pen credits on some of country’s biggest hits (“Lonely Tonight” – Blake Shelton, “You Look Good” – Lady Antebellum, “I Wish I Was” – Maren Morris) and continues his hit-song producing path with the release of his own debut music. Lauded for “generating major buzz” and “making waves online” (Rolling Stone) with his unconventional, fan-focused release of four tracks with corresponding artistry videos over four months, Hurd’s collection of songs, recently released on his debut EP, have garnered over 32 million streams worldwide. Following his breakout streaming success, Hurd’s debut single will hit country airwaves this Summer on RCA Nashville. With his dynamic music debut producing early fans among his country peers, Hurd was tapped by Thomas Rhett for the Home Team Tour, Maren Morris for her Hero Tour and will hit the road this summer with Florida Georgia Line on their Smooth Tour 2017. The EP features his current single and title track “Yours,” that gained him the fan base to allow him to go on his own heading Yours Tour and landed him as a special guest on the first leg of Thomas Rhett’s 2017 Home Team Tour along with Kelsea Ballerini and Ryan Hurd which wrapped in April. Dickerson has also been chosen as one of Pandora’s Artists to Watch for 2017 and “Yours” has been called the “biggest love song of the year” by SiriusXM.
