GENRE-BLENDING DUO MARFA RELEASES FRESH NEW TRACK “AMERICAN LONELY”

NASHVILLE, TN (September 5, 2025) – Americana Rock duo Marfa leans into a smooth, laid-back sound with their latest release, “American Lonely,” out today via Ascend Music. Written by Marfa’s own Bryce Menchaca and Kellen Wall, the lyrics drift through introspection, where love lost still manages to claim its space amidst deeper troubles. Anchored by the duo’s signature harmonies and framed by understated drums and a standout guitar solo, the track plays like a sepia-toned 70s record spinning on a dusty turntable – wistful, sincere and timeless.

“’American Lonely’ was written at a time when the world felt sad and eerily still following the fires in LA, and that feeling worked its way into the song,” shares Marfa’s Bryce Menchaca. “A lot of people in our lives were affected by it, and many of us have been impacted by tragedy in some way. It got us thinking about how the feeling of personal heartbreak and loneliness can still cut deep and almost distract us from the scenarios unfolding around us.”

“American Lonely” marks the duo’s second release since signing with Big Machine Label Group’s newest imprint, Ascend Music, in July. Their debut track with the label, “Little Miss Two Time,” showcases the duo’s breezy melodies and raw, rootsy sound, layered over a steady drumbeat and vibey bass line that makes heartbreak feel like a carefree road trip.

“American Lonely” and “Little Miss Two Time” – alongside buzzed-about tracks like “Daisy,” “Sugar,” and “Run For My Money”  can be heard live this fall as Marfa brings their free-flowing sound on the road with Southall, The Head and the Heart and more.

ABOUT MARFA: Raised on a Texas Country soundtrack, forged in Colorado from a shared love of rock icons past and present, and ignited by the spirit of California’s Laurel Canyon music scene, Marfa has arrived with an undeniably authentic sound as familiar as your favorite pair of Wranglers and as fresh as the morning Rocky Mountain air. The duo, comprised of Bryce Menchaca and Kellen Wall, just unveiled their latest release, “Little Miss Two Time,” marking their first since signing to Ascend Music (a division of Big Machine Label Group). Co-written by the pair and Morgan Nagler, the track is a toe-tapping tale of betrayal that serves as the first look at new music on the horizon produced by 3-time GRAMMY® Award-nominee Jonathan Wilson (Dawes, Father John Misty, Billy Strings). “Little Miss Two Time” expands upon previously released songs “Daisy,” “How She Left Me,” and “66,” the latter of which was recorded at Los Angeles’ EastWest Studios inside the same four walls that gave life to The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds and The Mamas & the Papas’ California Dreamin’. Blending influences like CSNY, the Eagles and Glen Campell, Marfa is bringing their own rootsy, Americana Rock inspired sound to stages across the East Coast as they join Southall, The Head and the Heart and more on the road.
