Penning “Body Language” alongside Liz Rose and Jamie Kennedy on her first trip to Nashville, POESY explains, “It was written inside of an old train station that had been converted to a studio. Liz and I wrote the lyrics in 20 minutes like poetry, without knowing the melody while Jamie worked on the beat. After we were done, Liz turned to Jamie and teased, ‘Ok, Jamie! We got a song here hurry up with the chords!’”
Produced by Gavin Brown, “Body Language” is the first taste from her GLASS BOX CONFESSIONAL EP, which hits all digital platforms on October 4 via Big Machine Records/Bell Media Inc. Over a backdrop of ethereal keys, evocative guitars, and off-kilter beats, the songstress unleashes a siren wail that conjures nineties pop femme fatales and eighties rock goddesses—while showcasing a fierce independence and singular style all her own. Confessional lyrics hold nothing back as she cuts deep with every chorus.

POESY is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new female voices. Influenced by innovative enigmatic artists like Kate Bush and Freddie Mercury, as well as 90s alternative rock queens PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, and Alanis Morissette, the Toronto-based artist has formed a gritty and unmistakable sound that demands to be heard. Pairing inspiration from her favorite novels with vulnerable confessions from her own life, POESY’s dark and powerful alt-rock rhythms makes it possible to dance and cry and wonder and hope all at once. POESY has collaborated with composer/producer Stephan Moccio (Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne) to release “Soldier of Love,” which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes All Genre Chart. POESY has since joined forces with acclaimed producer Gavin Brown (Metric, Three Days Grace, Billy Talent) to build on her sound and artistic vision.
