Billboard premiered the ballad, noting: “‘In a Bar Somewhere’ showcases Phillips’ knack for writing heartfelt songs rich with imagery and a triumphant chorus that begs to be heard.” Josh offers up vivid reminiscence with lyrics flowing:

If you’re ever in Port St. Joe
On that Emerald Coast
I hope I’m the last thing on your mind
If you’re ever on the interstate
Same shade of gray
Truck goes flyin’ by, don’t think it’s mine

Well, I hope your sun is shinin’
And you never look behind you, but

If you’re ever in a bar somewhere
At a back-booth table, peelin’ those labels off High Life beers
That miss me song comes on like neon, loud and clear
And you think you’ve had too much
Just let that good buzz call me up and I’ll be there

Josh recollects, “’In A Bar Somewhere’ has been a special song to me since the night we wrote it, so I’m super excited to share it with my fans. From the early days back home to Nashville and beyond, they’ve been coming out to my shows for years, singing these lyrics every night. Their support means the world to me and I can’t wait for new fans to discover it – hopefully they will love it as much as I do.”
