MIDLAND BOOTLEGS THEIR WAY THROUGH DEBUT MUSIC VIDEO “DRINKIN’ PROBLEM”

NASHVILLE, TN (February 23, 2017) – Just weeks after Entertainment Weekly named them one of the “10 Artists Who Will Rule 2017,” Texas trio Midland releases their music video for their debut single “Drinkin’ Problem.” The song that American Songwriter called “a Dwight Yoakam and Laurel Canyon-indebted tune” was penned by Midland along with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. Basked in the neon blue of an old bar, the video opens with lead singer Mark Wystrach crooning the first lines of the song before the shot widens to reveal bass player Cameron Duddy and guitarist Jess Carson. CMT, who premiered the video, described it as “one part Dukes of Hazzard and one part Smokey and the Bandit” and praised the video for its “retro-modern” cinematic quality that features the mischievous boys of Midland “romancing the pretty girls, running moonshine– and most importantly, running from the law.”

“It’s really special to be making a music video for our project that is our heart and our soul and everything we got,” shared Wystrach. “We gathered our friends, family and even the kind folks at the Lockhart police department for a video that’s really going to bring the essence of Midland out.”

The “Drinkin’ Problem” music video was shot in Lockhart, Texas, and directed by Duddy whose past directorial credits include music videos for Bruno Mars (“24k Magic”) and Jennifer Lopez (“Ain’t Your Mama”). iHeartCountry offered an exclusive look behind the making of the video, revealing how “’Drinkin’ Problem’ is a song that talks about heartbreak, but it’s told in a way that it can be tongue-in-cheek.” Check out the clip here: http://www.iheartcountry.com/features/iheartcountry-1928/articles/15/497086/midland-drinkin-problem-music-video-behind-15587420/.

Country radio officially begins playing the song on Monday, February 27 and the band’s five song self-titled EP is available at digital retailers and streaming services. Midland will be opening for Country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill later this year on select dates of their highly-anticipated Soul2Soul World Tour.
