MIDLAND SHOWS LONE STAR STATE PRIDE WITH NEW SINGLE “UP IN TEXAS”

Tickets Available Now for Up In Texas 2024 Tour

NASHVILLE, TN (December 15, 2023) – GRAMMY®-nominated trio Midland today shares their newest single “Up In Texas,” a love letter to the band’s native land that pays tribute to Lonestar State legends, classic Texassound and iconic sites (and sights). Produced by Midland themselves, the new track delivers more of the band’s signature three-part harmonies, steel guitar and vintage yet fresh sound that fans line up to hear.

The track, also the namesake of their recently announced tour (on sale now), was written by Midland’s own Jess Carson and Cameron Duddy along with Josh Osborne and Bryan Simpson. With no shortage of pride for the land in which the band was formed, the new track will go to Texas radio today.

“’Up in Texas’ might be an ode to the place where we formed as a band, but it is meant to be blasted from a dusty old jukebox anywhere on the planet,” said Midland’s Jess Carson.

“It’s a Lone Star anthem honoring the people, places and personas that have made the state a lil’ bigger than the rest,” added Midland’s Mark Wystrach.

The new single comes on the heels of their recent release of a cover of Glen Campbell’s beloved “Wichita Lineman,” which Rolling Stone dubbed as one of their “Songs You Need to Know” and Billboard named one of their “8 Must-Hear New Country Songs,” saying “Sinewy guitar lines bring a languid pace to the song, accented by Wystrach’s silken lead vocal, before the song spaces out with a bluesy, rock-leaning guitar line.”
