CMT Music Awards Group Video of the Year Nominees Plot Late Night Nashville Show for CMA Music Festival

NASHVILLE, TN (June 5, 2017) – Pure Country troubadours MIDLAND earned strong reviews while opening for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s SOUL2SOUL WORLD TOUR in Canada this past weekend. With a stripped down acoustic set that included their Top 15-and-rising Country radio single “Drinkin’ Problem,” the Texas trio caught the attention of both fans a music critics alike:

“Opening the evening was Texas trio Midland, with acoustic guitars and harmonies that would make the Everly Brothers blush.”
– Calgary Herald

“Openers Midland were a throwback of sorts to ’70s country-rock, but without the rhythm section. Three guys, three guitars, nice harmonies, some sweetly trad musical impulses, and a song called Drinkin’ Problem, which shows exactly where they’re coming from.”
– Edmonton Journal

The demand for Midland continues to show impressive momentum heading into one of Country music’s biggest weeks. CMA Music Festival. “Drinkin’ Problem” remains one of the top 10 best-selling Country songs on iTunes and remains the only Country song on Pandora’s Trendsetter Chart.

Midland will make their national television debut on Wednesday night’s CMT Music Awards where they will perform and vie for Group Video of the Year. The live broadcast from Nashville airs June 7 at 8:00P ET.

Having got their start playing honkytonks in the Austin area, fans in Music City this week can catch Midland’s live show at local downtown haunt Whiskey Bent Saloon on Thursday night (6/8) at 11:30P.
