NASHVILLE, TN  (June 1, 2021) – Seattle rocker AYRON JONES has officially claimed the top spot on the Mainstream Rock Billboard Airplay chart with his first No. 1 single “Mercy” (Big Machine/John Varvatos Records). The gritty, genre-blending artist wrote the track alongside Marty Frederickson and Scott Stevens with the haunting lyrics, “Got me on my knees / too much smoke, can’t breathe,” that he meant quite literally. It was late in 2020 when he co-penned the song and by that point, during one of the most tumultuous years in recent American history, the whole world appeared to be on fire. Full of charged lyrics and melodies, “Mercy” is, underscored by a vision of hope and endurance: through it all, we persevere.

As his ascent in the Rock world continues, early praise has rolled in for Jones’ recently released 12-track collection CHILD OF THE STATE:

“…Child of the State cements Jones as one of music’s most intriguing new characters. Standing on the shoulders of Seattle greats such as Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam and Nirvana, Jones sings with a statement he must make clear and a strength he shares with those who just might need it as bad as he did.” – People

“Blending heavy rock, blues, grunge, hip-hop and soul with searing lead guitar work and serious tone, Ayron Jones has burst out of Seattle to become one of the most exciting guitarists of the past few years.” – Guitar World

“The leaner and meaner “Child of the State” is a straight-ahead hard rock record, a made-for-radio riff-a-thon with massive, throat-scraping hooks that mosh their way into your head with no intention of leaving peacefully.” – The Seattle Times

“Jones’ new record is astonishing. It rumbles, shakes. It includes thick riffs, lighting solos and raspy intimacy…” – American Songwriter

Ayron Jones has emerged over the past year as one of the breakout artists in rock…” – Loudwire

Previously gaining a following as an independent artist Jones has become part of the fabric of his hometown of Seattle, opening for Guns ’N’ Roses at the Gorge and B.B. King.  With a reach that now extends well beyond his hometown, playing alongside such acts as Run DMC, Public Enemy, Rahkim, Jeff Beck, Theory of a Deadman, Robin Trower, and Spearhead he will next be performing at Love Rocks NYC live from The Beacon on June 3 alongside such acts as Jon Bon Jovi, Gary Clark Jr. and Sara Bareilles among others. Jones has also been announced to play notable upcoming festivals including Louder Than Life, Blue Ridge Rock Festival, Aftershock and Shiprocked among others.  For updates on Jones and additional tour dates visit https://ayronjonesmusic.com/.
