LOS ANGELES, CA (July 17, 2020) – Southern California Rockers BADFLOWER release their highly anticipated new single “30” everywhere today via Big Machine/John Varvatos Records. The bold track comes the same day frontman Josh Katz celebrates his milestone birthday alongside bandmates connecting with fans, media and radio. Alternative Press gave fans a first look premiering the music video earlier this morning here saying “The new Badflower track is an absolute standout. Katz runs down the list of the day’s (or life’s) dubious accomplishments in a way that’s sarcastic and brutally honest. The video itself is a treat on its own merits.” Badflower will also take time to chat with fans as they watch the video live on YouTube today at 4:30 PM PT / 6:30 PM CT at the link here: https://badflower.lnk.to/30videoPR.

“I’ve always been uncomfortable with the idea of getting older,” explains Katz. “30 is a milestone I’ve been dreading since 20. I wanted to write a song about how I’m feeling internally and everything happening around me in 2020 as a 30 year old. The world is fucking weird and I hate it here.”

Written and produced by Katz, Joey Morrow’s deliberate guitar riff is a bold start to the track as bassist Alex Espiritu and drummer Anthony Sonetti build around Katz’s vocals charging between angst and ease:

I’m nervous, so nervous
I overeat, I lack purpose
And I’m only scratching the surface
And I’m not shelved cause sex sells
But how long till I’m canceled
This is 30, fucking 30
I’m still here, I’m still dirty

The weekend festivities continue tomorrow (7/18) as Badflower presents and performs at S.H.I.T. (So Happy I’m Thirty) Fest via Livestream at //LiveFrom.events/Badflower beginning at 4:00 PM EST. The concept was born out of the realization three members had July birthdays and all they wanted to do was play live music with their friends while supporting others. Katz will host the event also featuring Dead Sara, Bones UK and Dead Poet Society. Tickets for S.H.I.T Fest are available at Badflowermusic.com and proceeds from sales will be split between two important causes – the fight to end immigration detention through Freedom For Immigrants (https://www.freedomforimmigrants.org/) and to change the culture surrounding mental health through 320 Changes Direction (https://www.changedirection.org/320-changes-direction/). The standard stream is $9 or supporters can choose an upgraded package for $30, which includes a special exclusive commemorative t-shirt.
