NASHVILLE, TN (January 11, 2021) – Five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning trio and current nominee Lady A top the Mediabase/Country Aircheck Singles chart for the third consecutive week and hold the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart for the second week as “Champagne Night” (BMLG Records) becomes their 11th career chart-topping hit. The multi-week No. 1 is “a celebration of all things down-home” (Rolling Stone) and is the first song from NBC’s primetime series Songland to become a radio single. “Champagne Night” can now be found on the recent expansion of Lady A’s critically-acclaimed No. 1 album, the OCEAN DELUXE EDITION available here

“Since we started the journey with ‘Champagne Night’ every step of the process has been so special to us,” Hillary Scott said. “We couldn’t be more thankful for all the support from our fans and friends at Country radio and to Songland for believing in the song as much as we did. I can’t believe we get to start 2021 off with a multi-week No. One….it almost feels unreal!”

After serving as the guest artist for the season two premiere of Songland, they chose the winning song, “Champagne Night,” penned by the show’s mentor Shane McAnally, alongside aspiring songwriter Madeline Merlo and the trio. As the laidback pick-me-up was crafted specifically for Lady A it serves as a lighthearted ode to a simplified, humble interpretation of the high-life and immediately jumped to the No. 1 spot on iTunes’ all genre chart. Additionally, Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott delivered virtual renditions of the No. 1 hit on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Voice, the Today show, CMT Music Awards and during the Rose Bowl Parade.

Over the course of their decade-plus career, Lady A has become one of the 21st century’s premier vocal groups, blending deeply felt emotions with classic Country sounds. While ushering more than 18 million album units, 34 million tracks sold and nearly five billion digital streams, the trio earned the biggest first week streams of their career with their critically acclaimed No. 1 album OCEAN. Known for their 9X PLATINUM hit “Need You Now” which is the highest certified song by a Country group, they have earned CMA AwardsVocal Group of the Year trophies three years in a row and countless other honors including five GRAMMY® Awards, Billboard Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards and a Tony Award nod. The trio recently announced details for their newly formed LadyAID Scholarship Fund, supporting students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities. With the hopes of helping relieve financial barriers to higher education and empower Black communities around the country, the applications will be available in early 2021 and more info can be found here.
