Unexpectedly weaving the foundation for their collaboration, the artists’ common thread was songwriter Johan Lindbrandt. He produced “Bottom Of This Bottle” and penned the track with Anna, whose rise to fame followed appearances on Swedish Idol and Melodifestivalen two years later with chart-topper “This Is My Life.” Only a few years ago Lindbrandt and Tyler were writing together during sessions for Big Machine Music (publishing arm of Big Machine Label Group).
“Johan and I go back to writing songs together in Los Angeles around 2017 before he moved back to Sweden. When he sent me this song as a duet idea – after just one listen – I couldn’t stop singing it for days. I knew I had to be a part of this feature! I’m so excited to share this song with an amazing artist such as Anna and I am ready for us take it global!” expresses Tyler.
The Pop infusion launches with a punchy melody as Anna and Tyler layer harmonies with urgent, yet still carefree, lyrics. “Tyler’s vocals brought another dimension to the song and I feel humbled that he wanted to join. He is a down to earth kind of person with so much talent, and I can’t wait to see where this collaboration takes us. Plus, I hear he’s part Swedish!” shares Anna.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, both have made significant decisions in their personal lives while continuing to nurture their music careers.
Being a Goodwill Ambassador for the Swedish United Nations Association, Anna has advanced in her medical studies to become a doctor while simultaneously writing new songs for her forthcoming release this fall and planning a tour in her native country this summer. Anna’s debut album YOURS SINCERELY reached No. 1 with two singles following – “Broken Melody” and “Vice,” one of the most played songs on Sweden’s biggest radio network P4. She returned to Melodifestivalen in 2019 with “Ashes to Ashes,” which reached PLATINUM certification, topped the Swedish radio chart, placed No. 1 on Svensktoppen and finished the year as the fourth most played Swedish song on national radio. She also competed in 2020 with “Kingdom Come” making a huge impact on the audience, reaching No. 1 on both the Swedish airplay and iTunes charts and peaking at No. 5 on the Swedish Spotify chart. Anna’s next release, “Thelma and Louise,” sustained in the Top 10 on the Swedish airplay list for several months and was featured on her highly acclaimed EP VERA. She wrapped the year with a Christmas single, “It Never Snows In California,” and a new single in August 2021 called “Grain of Trust,’ which climbed quickly on Swedish radio.
Over the last year, Tyler has used this time to create and connect virtually with fans. His debut album TWO THOUSAND MILES (The Valory Music Co.) reflects all of the feelings people have in common – the needs for acceptance, devotion and places to call their own. GOLD-certified “The Difference” and current single “Better Than You’re Used To” have contributed to Tyler’s music garnering 315M+ global streams to date. His current single is a reminder of knowing your value and how you should be treated, an empathetic spirit that extends to animals too. With his Rich Rescues initiative, Tyler raises awareness for pet adoption in markets he is touring. He will hit the road this Fall for headline dates up and down the West Coast with his TWO THOUSAND MILES TOUR in addition to joining Chris Lane for the FILL THEM BOOTS tour.
