TORONTO, ON (October 7, 2019) – Chart-topping breakout artist POESY unveiled her debut EP GLASS BOX CONFESSIONAL on Friday (10/4) via Big Machine Records/Bell Media Inc. A complex four-track collection, conjuring nineties pop femme fatales and eighties rock goddesses, GLASS BOX CONFESSIONAL showcases POESY’s fierce independence, intricate narratives and a singular style that is unapologetically all her own.

“It was through making this record that I realized I had a lot to say as a twenty-five-year-old woman,” shares POESY. “I’m afraid, I’m in love. I’m strong. I’m ashamed. I’m confused. I’m proud. I love love. Women are strong, inspiring and necessary.  Love is love.  And, security is a bore.”

Later this month, POESY will join alternative artist BAD CHILD for a handful of dates across Ontario and Quebec. Her current single “Body Language” and its companion music video premiered exclusively viaBillboard in September stating, “newcomer POESY’s fiery debut single, ‘Body Language’ introduces the singer and her powerful belt to the music world. The Canadian artist captivates with distinct vocals, electronic beats and pulsating guitar parts on the rock anthem.”

POESY is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new female voices. Influenced by innovative enigmatic artists like Kate Bush and Freddie Mercury, as well as 90s alternative rock Queens PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, and Alanis Morissette, the Toronto-based artist has formed a gritty and unmistakable sound that demands to be heard. Pairing inspiration from her favorite novels with vulnerable confessions from her own life, POESY’s dark and powerful alt-rock rhythms makes it possible to dance and cry and wonder and hope all at once. During her 2018 participation in CTV’s THE LAUNCH, POESY collaborated with composer/producer Stephan Moccio (Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne) to release the single “Soldier of Love,” and debut at No. 1 on the iTunes All Genres Chart. POESY has since joined forces with acclaimed producer Gavin Brown (Metric, Three Days Grace, Billy Talent) to continue to build on her sound and artistic vision.
