NASHVILLE, TN (May 23, 2025) – Rising singer/songwriter Shaylen is letting her man know exactly where he stands in her new track “Daddy Issues.” He’s hurt her time and time again and constantly lets her down, but she hasn’t been able to get to the bottom of why she can’t seem to walk away. After spending countless hours psychoanalyzing herself to no avail, she ultimately comes to the conclusion that the only “daddy issue” at play here is the fact that her dad is ready to bury this man for what he’s done to his little girl. Penned by Sean Small, Sam Sumser and Emily Weisband and co-produced by Shaylen alongside award-winning producer Julian Raymond, “Daddy Issues” further solidifies Shaylen’s place as a standout vocalist and a resonant artist.

“‘Daddy Issues’ hit home for me in every way when I first heard it, because when your dad is a southern FBI agent like mine, he doesn’t mess around,” shares Shaylen. “This track feels like the perfect introduction to the next chapter of stories we’re getting ready to share, and I hope it’s cathartic for people who might be feeling stuck in a bad relationship.”
“Daddy Issues” marks Shaylen’s first release of 2025 and her second solo release since signing with Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment last year. “To Tell You The Truth,” which All Country News describes as “a perfect showcase of the singer-songwriter’s ability to channel her personal life into powerful lyrics that resonate universally,” was released last fall and has connected with fans for its vulnerable message and relatability. Prior to that, Shaylen teamed up with labelmate Noah Hicks for the stirring duet “Second Time Around,” adding her “silky-smooth notes” (Country Now) to the electric track. She made her emotional Grand Ole Opry debut in October after Opry member Chris Young sweetly surprised her with the exciting invitation via FaceTime.
Shaylen will appear at CMA Fest next month with a performance at the Dr. Pepper Amp Stage on June 6 before hitting the road to play a number of fairs and festivals this summer including Captain’s Getaway (6/19), Watershed Festival (8/1), and more. ABOUT SHAYLEN: Only Shaylen can write herself into a song. Because the tenacious singer/songwriter draws inspiration from real life experiences for the songs she sings. Following a decade-long stint pursing music in LA, Shaylen returned to her home state of Tennessee in 2022 to take a leap of faith into Country music and since then has amassed 100+ million streams to date with independent releases “What If I Don’t,” “Been There Before” and “Let Me Let You,” among others. Quickly cementing her status as one to watch, the rising powerhouse vocalist has swiftly emerged as one of the most prominent emerging female artists in the genre as Holler proclaims she mixes the “the chandelier rattling delivery of Kelly Clarkson with the cowgirl-next-door charm of Carly Pearce.” Newly signed to Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment, Shaylen recently teamed up with labelmate Noah Hicks for “Second Time Around.” Adding her signature “silky-smooth notes” (Country Now) to the stirring duet, All Country News declares their collaboration is “proof that Noah Hicks and Shaylen are forces to be reckoned with in the country music scene.” With her brand new release, “To Tell You The Truth,” out now, Shaylen proves her staying power delivering hard truths about mixed feelings while trying to move on from an ended relationship. The excitement surrounding Shaylen continues to soar, as she made her Grand Ole Opry Debut last fall. Watch the sweet moment Opry member Chris Young not only invited Shaylen to step into the hallowed circle for the first time, but also introduced her to the stage on her special night.
